“Sabbatical”

After nearly 8 years at Geocaching, I earned a one month “sabbatical” away from the office. I chose to head to Berlin to brush up on my German. I took intensive classes nearly every day, watched German movies, and interacted in German with everyone I met. I am thankful to Geocaching for having such an amazing benefit.

Nibblings

For the end of my trip, my sister, my twin nephews, and my niece took their first international trip–to visit Uncle Matt in Germany. My goal was to broaden their world view and to plant a seed of future wanderlust. I dusted off the GoPro for the trip through Bavaria and put together a video to help them remember.

Seeing culture differences through children’s eyes is something I’ll never forget. I hope we get to do it again.
